The Samsung UN40EH6000 Suffers From the EH6000 Syndrome

The Samsung UN40EH6000 Suffers From the EH6000 Syndrome

Costing anything between $650 and $850, the Samsung UN40EH6000 cannot escape the terrible fate which awaits all EH6000 models, including this 40” LED/LCD HDTV, all 1080p and 120Hz of it. The endemic lighter black colour and the rather poor angled viewing make our Samsung UN40EH6000 review quite on the negative side, notwithstanding the overall great qualities in other departments. For example, we loved the LED backlighting and the fact that, in particularly dark scenes, these LEDS switch off automatically. We also bowed in adoration at the Samsung UN40EH6000’s marvellous colours and details and admired its Auto Motion Plus feature, which comes with 3 settings – Standard, Smooth and Clear. Use Clear only for video content and the other 2 for both video and TV. The absence of the possibility of Smart TV online streaming is kind of countered by its USB storage device, which allows you to play any type of media file (or almost!). The sound system on the Samsung UN40EH6000 is composed of SRS TruSurround HD virtual-surround novelty, which certainly makes an impact in the deeper regions of the ear canal. Unlike many other competing brands the Menu on this model is extremely versatile and easy to use. However, if you still find that setting up your EH6000 is too complicated for your likings, click here to view the user manual. Better still, have a peek before you buy the damn thing to figure it out beforehand!

Online Reviews About the Samsung UN40EH6000

What better way to write a review than to read lots of other reviews and come up with something everyone is talking about? There are always going to be raving comments about any product, just as much as you will find terrible ones. We try to find an in-between but, most importantly, give you our take on what we think might give you goose bumps and what might make your flesh crawl. We wouldn’t like to keep harping about the bad picture quality too much but a few users have also commented on blurry and unclear images and low and inadequate sound.  On the other side of the spectrum most buyers reported a great deal all around, with price, expectations and quality mostly being exceeded. We did find some interesting comments from Samsung UN40EH6000 Amazon buyers. Apparently, Samsung thought it would be a great idea to place a universal switch in an awkward place (at least when mounted on a wall). This switch controls all functions but, instead of pressing it, you would need to slide it any which way you want. Now, don’t call me daft – but I always believed damn buttons were there to click rather than maneuver!

Size Does Not Matter or Does It?

Most people would prefer to super-size everything in life, excluding their mother-in-law, God forbid! I could empathise with super-sizing a burger or soda but why, on earth would you need  a 60” plus TV to watch just about everything, from soap operas to sports events? We believe that the Samsung UN40EH6000 40” is just the right size for both placement and viewing enjoyment.

Keep a Watchful Eye on the Size of Your Media Files

We did briefly comment about the presence of a USB port, which offers the option of enjoying the contents on your wonderful UN40EH6000. However, what you need to be acutely aware of is the sad reality that anything over 1.5GB might just not play due to the inability of the TV to support that much memory. Most downloadable movies are well over 1GB so you want to make sure that you can enjoy watching them on your EH6000.
